The Vision First campaign is an excellent opportunity

We've made it easy for you to provide important information to your parents and teachers.

Prewritten letters, vision report forms, and helpful fact sheets are here for you at no cost to your school.  Vision First is a non-profit organization.

All children can benefit from an eye examination

Academic learning is 80% visual.  Are your teachers aware of each student's visual abilities and eye care needs?

Vision screening does not evaluate eye health and important vision skills needed for success in school.  Vision screening is not a substitute for an eye examination.

A completed Vision First report form will help your teachers provide an excellent educational program for each child.  The Reference Page explains a comprehensive eye and vision examination and the importance of visual skills for learning in school.

Successful treatment for the child depends upon parent compliance and cooperation from the school.

IASB

The Illinois Association of School Boards Belief Statement Number 12 urges school districts to comply with the required notification provision regarding vision screenings. The Vision First Vision Screening Provisions provides simple instructions.
